Spring 2013

End of Term Nursing Project (Spring 2013) 5/13/2013

Teamwork and collaboration is crucial to the nursing profession. We must learn to work well with others and come together to make a great final outcome. No matter the obstacles in the group, we must face them. Challenges in majority of groups will be present. Over this semester I have learned to deal with certain types of issues that arise.

I have learned that certain people will take the lead roles and others will go into the follower roles. My group was the type that had to meet before presentations to make sure that we were prepared and ready. We divided up the work in the all of the modules and everyone was accountable for their own part. When someone could not make a meeting or when people missed the due dates, communication was key to our success in all four modules. We would all have our input and no one was left out. I have learned from my group to divide up the work equally, trust others, listen carefully, keep an open mind, and do not take things personally.

It is important to learn the different personalities in the group and learn about the strength and weaknesses of each individual. That way we know the capabilities of each person and what to assign to each group member. All of these points above have taught me how to strengthen my participation in every group. Although there can be stressful times, we have to work together as one and be willing to put in the effort to be a great group to produce and present the final project.
